Geography was crucial in determining the placement of the city of Babylon. It was situated between two great rivers, The Tigris and the Euphrates. This allowed for trade as well as fishing, water for irrigation and ability to be prepared from ambushes, as they could see enemies making their way to invade, by means of boat.
