why is every number with a 5 in the ones place not prime

Well, not exactly EVERY one of them. The number ' 5 ' is a prime. But all the others are multiples of 5, so they're not primes.

Every number that ends with a 5, besides 5, is not a prime number because it is divisible by 5. Prime numbers are only divisible by themselves and 1.
