The balanced equation for the reaction above is as follows:
NaHCO2 + HCl = NACl + H2CO2.
A double replacement reaction is a type of reaction in which two compounds react and the cations and the anions in the reactants switch places, thus forming two new compounds. In the reaction above, sodium and hydrogen switch places.
