In the triangles, ABC and ADC,
AB = AD (given)
AC is common on both triangles
BC = DC (given)

Thus, triangle ABC is congruent to ADC. Then, by definition, triangles AED and AEB are congruent.

Then angle 1 = angle 2 (corresponding angles on congruent triangles)
