1 and ∠2 are complementary angles. The measure of ∠1 is 14°. The measure of ∠2 is 4x°. Find the value of x.

Remember that

the sum of complementary angles is 90 degrees

so

<1+<2=90

substitute given values

14+4x=90

solve for x

4x=90-14

4x=76

x=19
