How are square roots related to the area of a square ?

If we know that area of a square is [tex]A=a^2[/tex],
where a is one side
applying square roots we can find side knowing the area
a=[tex] \sqrt{A} [/tex]
where A is area of a square.
Its the relationship between square roots and area of a square.

If you have a square, then

-- Its area is the SQUARE of the length of its side,and

-- The length of its side is the SQUARE ROOT of its area.

That's where these numbers got the names 'square' and 'square root'.
