Simplify both sides of the equation.

5x+2+6x+9=10x+5

(5x+6x)+(2+9)=10x+5(Combine Like Terms)

11x+11=10x+5

11x+11=10x+5

Subtract 10x from both sides.

11x+11−10x=10x+5−10x

x+11=5

Subtract 11 from both sides.

x+11−11=5−11
